Share Google Drive event photos with guests, by face

Most photographers in India already deliver events as a Google Drive folder. Facely works on top of that folder: nothing to re-upload, no new gallery to manage. Guests take one selfie and get only the photos they appear in, opened at full quality straight from your Drive.

Why not just share the Drive link?

A Drive folder is fine for the couple or the client, but terrible for 300 guests. There's no way to find "photos with me" except scrolling through thousands of files, and everyone can see everyone's photos. Facely adds the missing piece, search by face, without moving your photos anywhere.

Step 1: make the folder viewable by link

1. Open drive.google.com and find the event folder.
2. Right-click it, choose Share, then Share again.
3. Under General access, change "Restricted" to "Anyone with the link", with the role Viewer.
4. Click Copy link. It looks like https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/…

Facely only ever reads the folder. It never edits, moves, renames or deletes anything in your Drive.

Step 2: create the event

Paste the folder link into the create-event form, optionally add your studio's name, logo, Instagram and WhatsApp, and pay ₹999. Facely lists every photo in the folder and its subfolders, then indexes the faces in the background. Guests can start searching within minutes.

What's supported

• File types: JPG, PNG, WebP and BMP. iPhone HEIC files aren't read yet; export them as JPG first.
• Folder structure: one folder with any number of subfolders (one per function or day works well).
• Size: up to 10,000 photos per event. A larger folder is indexed up to that limit, and you'll be told in the ready email.
• Quality: guests open and download the original files from your Drive, so nothing is compressed by Facely.

What Facely keeps, and for how long

To make searching fast, Facely stores a small preview thumbnail of each photo and a face index (a list of numbers per face, not an image). Both are deleted automatically after 60 days, or sooner on request. Your originals stay in your Drive and stay yours.

Troubleshooting

"Indexing failed"

Almost always the folder isn't shared as "Anyone with the link". Fix the sharing (step 1) and write to support; we'll restart the event.

Some photos aren't showing up

Check they're JPG/PNG/WebP and inside the shared folder. Photos added after indexing finished aren't picked up automatically yet; email support and we'll re-index the event.

A guest can't find themselves

Ask for a clear, front-facing selfie in good light. Very small faces in big crowd shots and strong side profiles can be missed. See how face search works.
